A5: Cheaper and faster: Bus. No issues about safety, the highway is recently built. It takes about 5,5 hours. The price is 10$-13$
Safer and more comfortable: Train. If you take the bus up to Sapa and not familiar with buses, You can’t really sleep because of the windy roads … you arrive there at 3am exhausted . They drive crazy fast and horns are honking all night . The train is more comfortable. It was really nice. For the train, you can do the night train sleeping, price is 30$/way for cabin 4 berth for Livitrain or similar..
